PFC Emory L Bennett Veterans Memorial Park is one of Volusia County’s largest parks, boasting 205 acres of land. It has a playground, football field and nature trails. The park is, however, best known for its little league baseball & softball diamonds. On any given day or evening, teams of little leaguers, or senior church men’s softball teams can be found in the park, making use of its 5 full-sized diamonds. The clay & Grass turf are lighted after dark for night play.

The park was developed by Volusia County’s Parks, Recreation & Culture Division, with financial assistance from the Florida Dept of Environmental Protection through the Florida Recreation Dept assistance program.

One of the five ball diamonds… It began to quite literally downpour immediately after I got this shot. I am proud that the County created this park in memorial to PFC Bennett, as well as all soldiers from all armed force branches who defend our right to freedom, so that our children are able to play…
